Context: Design can be used for evil as well as for good. Choose your path wisely.
Synopsis: I’ve been tempted to cross over to the dark side of design a few times in my career. I’m not proud of it but sometimes when you know that you need to get users to take a certain path or make a certain choice it is tempting to use black hat UX tactics to unfairly limit their options or fool them into doing something that they otherwise may not want to. But it is incumbent on the righteous design practitioner to resist such urges and present users with an honest and transparent UI at all times. Not that you guys would ever succumb to such reprobate compulsions. Right guys? Um, right?!?!
