Failure is the secret to success. True story.

Title: Failure: The Secret to Success
Context: Success does not happen without failure. Period.
Synopsis: If you can’t learn from your mistakes, you can’t learn. If you are afraid of making mistakes, you can’t succeed. One of the better corporate videos I’ve seen (this one from Honda) that does not navel-gazingly extol the usual organizational success stories, but rather celebrates the road to those successes that are without exception marked by fruitless tangents and periods of failure. But failure is not an end. Failure is the discovery of an answer that is simply not the right one. The problem with failure is when you let it beat you, or when people in charge frame failure as the end of the process. I’m not saying that you make failure a way of life, I’m saying that you make the resiliency to overcome failure a core tool in your arsenal of skills.
Best Bit: “If you’ve got a boss who’s telling you to take a chance, and if you make a mistake or fail you just try not to do that again, and try to learn from that, that’s a good thing.”
