Title: Make It So: What Interaction Designers can Learn from Science Fiction Interfaces
Context: We help make the future, so what can we learn from cool sci-fi movies that will help us?
Synopsis: The influence that visions of the future on the big screen exerts on the design of real world interaction paradigms cannot be understated. I mean if I see another UX presentation with that goddamned scene from Minority Report in it I’m going to punch somebody. Plus that movie sucked. And so does Tom Cruise. But I digress. The fact is that real world interaction design (like the stuff we do) also affects people’s vision of the future. I can’t wait until I finally see something I made being used on the bridge of the Enterprise. That’s gonna be awesome.
