Context: Fluency in the language of user experience is tough to master.
Synopsis: Remember how much you hated English class in high school? “I’m going to become a designer so I never have to conjugate another verb ever again!” you thought to yourself. Well, your teacher just had the last laugh because unfortunately for you, one of the most important, and overlooked, aspects of user experience design is the impact of proper grammatical usage. Is it “Update my settings” or “Update your settings”? Great, now my head hurts. The good news is that there are reasonable and sensible guidelines to follow for cases such as this. And as soon as I finish unsplitting my infinitives and dedangling my participles, I’ll let you know precisely what those guidelines are.
