All that glitters is design.

Title: A Golden Age of Design
Context: The New York Times says we are in the golden age of design. They can’t lie about these things, right?
Synopsis: It’s all coming together. Technology, ideas, business—all of it—and the result is an environment so fertile for creative innovation that you can’t ride an elevator 5 floors without hearing 10 pitches where design is not just a component of, but is actually the whole frickin thing. Yes, welcome to the golden age of design my fellow acolytes! The time has finally come where the future is no longer charted by MBA masters of the universe nor by techno-nerd code monkeys, no, we—the creative class—are the next wave of game changing, out of the box, killer app trailblazers. Our opinions matter! Our visions will be realized! Our Flappy Birds will ubiquitously flap and our Nests will allow everyone to nest comfortably. Design is all the rage these days, so rage on my design brethren…rage on indeed…
Best Bit: “Style, functionality and engineering are now one and the same, and even mundane objects are virtuously designed.”
