User experience: If you don’t know, you’d better ask somebody.

Title: I don’t care about User Experience
Context: Things I don’t miss: Being met with blank stares while answering the question “So what exactly is it that you guys do?”
Synopsis: We are no longer strange, mystical beings that people kind of know that they need, but not really sure why. This is good in the sense that it frees us up from having to sell our skills and services over and over and over again for every new customer that accidentally wanders into our office looking for the product manager. This is also good because the more people expect us to be part of the whole conversation, the more input we can expect to have on the final product. This is additionally good as the competition that does not offer end to end UX design as an integral part of its strategy will soon cease to be competition. The drawback? Now we really have to deliver on all the wonderful things that we promise our clients…
Best Bit: “These days we’ve stopped selling UX and started simply doing it.”
